ABOUT THE TALK:

In this talk, Dr. Roxy Mathew Koll will discuss about how the Indian Ocean is rapidly changing, and how it is affecting the food, water, and energy security of the region. We will go through a journey on how changing oceans affect the monsoons, the carbon cycle and marine ecosystem - and weather events like cyclones, extreme sea level, and marine heatwaves. We will also discuss about the urgency and the collective efforts required to closely monitor, understand, and forecast the climatic changes in the Indian Ocean.
