Overview:

The current course will provide exposure to the Indian Coast Guard officers on the various products and services developed for the Indian Coast Guard, supporting their operational requirements. INCOIS has developed specialised online tools for their requirements like the Search And Rescue Aid Tool (SARAT) for supporting search and rescue operations in the sea, in case of any untoward incidents in the sea; Online Oil Spill Advisory (OOSA) system for providing oil spill trajectory forecast during oil spill incidents. Regular ocean state forecasts (winds, waves, currents, tides) covering the geographical region of their interests is also provided routinely, for movement of their vehicles. Further, they will be exposed to the Indian Tsunami Early Warning Services, Potential Fishing Zone Advisory services as well as Data Management Services. This will be helpful to the senior and junior officers, who are in the operations. The course is designed to be a mix of both practical and theoretical sessions, covering the areas of interest.

Aims and Objectives:

• Training on the specialised software developed for the Indian Coast Guard.
• Interpret the data on ocean state forecast for their operations.
• Exposure to products and services of INCOIS

Learning Outcomes:

• Knowledge and understanding of INCOIS products and services.
• Capability to use the software independently from their centres.
• Handling the specialised tools developed for the Indian Coast Guard.

Target audience is limited to the following:

• Indian Coast Guard Officers in operations.
