during 28 October - 01 November 2024
Organized by
International Training Centre for Operational Oceanography (ITCOocean)
INCOIS, Hyderabad, India

Overview:

This training to ISBA trainees is an online PMN Training Programme being undertaken under the aegis of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India from 16 September to 08 November 2024. The training would be conducted by the specialized training Institutes in Oceanography, Ocean Technology and Metallurgy of which INCOIS will provide the training during 28 October - 1 November, 2024.

As a part of this PMN training, all the trainees will be provided an exposure on products and services being generated and disseminated to the end users. INCOIS provide Potential Fishing Zone Advisories (PFZ), Tuna advisories, Ocean State Forecasts (winds, waves, currents, tides) covering the Indian Ocean geographical region. Apart from these, they will be exposed to the Indian Tsunami Early Warning Services, Remote Sensing data reception and processing and instruments used for obtaining in situ data from the ocean. This will be helpful to the trainees, who are going to be working in these areas of research.

INCOIS, being the central repository for marine data in the country, receives voluminous oceanographic data in real time, fssrom a variety of in-situ and remote sensing observing systems. This training also focuses on brining awareness about the data holding from various instruments archived at INCOIS and utilization of data for various scientific applications.
