Course Overview:

Indian National Center for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) and Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Asia and Africa (RIMES) have a long collaboration for multi hazards services. INCOIS is providing the daily Ocean State Forecasts services to RIMES member states in the Indian Ocean region in Customized formats and dedicated website. RIMES facilitates the South Asia Hydromet Forum (SAHF). SAHF is a regional initiative that provides capacity building and training activities to support National Meteorological and Hydrological Services. INCOIS is providing weekly Ocean State Forecast information (Wave, Wind, Current, Swell, Sea Surface Temperature) through Weekly SAHF Forecasters’ Forum. As per the request from RIMES, INCOIS is planning to conduct a tailor-made training on Customized Ocean Forecast Products for SAHF countries, especially to Bangladesh, Myanmar, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. These nations are driven by a collective recognition of the dynamic complexities within the maritime environment, prompting them to focus on tailored solutions, effective data use, and ongoing technical advancement. The proposed training will serve as a pivotal collaboration, bringing together the collective aspirations of SAHF coastal member countries to become adept in the complexities of marine forecasting.
