"Training Programme on Ocean Observation System and Models towards OSF, Coastal Dynamics and PFZ"
during
20-24 February, 2023
Organized by
International Training Centre for Operational Oceanography (ITCOocean)
ESSO-INCOIS, Hyderabad, India
in joint collaboration with
Andhra University and National Institute of Oceanography -RC, Visakhapatnam
Over the years, INCOIS has been successful in observing, modeling, understanding, characterizing and forecasting the state of the Indian Ocean and its ecosystems. In addition, INCOIS provides early warnings of extreme ocean events like tsunamis, tidal waves, and storm surges.
Commemorating the silver jubilee year, INCOIS will strengthen observations, build improved models and enhance its bouquet of services, while contributing to national and regional capacity building in operational oceanography by providing trainings to young scientists from India, IOR countries, and other developing nations. The present training (Training Programme on Ocean Observation System and Models towards OSF, Coastal Dynamics and PFZ) organized by INCOIS in joint collaboration with Andhra University and National Institute of Oceanography will impart contemporary knowledge and hands on training on techniques and practices used in ocean research
(i) The young Principal and Co-Investigators and young researcher's collaborative projects sponsored by INCOIS
(ii) Release of a Compendium
A compendium on ‘Ocean observation systems and models towards OSF, Coastal dynamics and PFZ’ encompassing the basic principles, techniques and tools used in operational oceanography will be released along with the training.
It will be a guide for upcoming and practicing and ocean scientists. The authors of this compendium are endowed with a wealth of experience and expertise in their respective fields and have created a comprehensive guide for both new and experienced users. The book covers a wide range of topics, from the basics to the state-of-the-art techniques and tools used in the generation of various ocean services. Whether you are a student, researcher, or professional in the field, this book will serve as an invaluable resource while you seamlessly navigate through the world of operational oceanography.
